The Petzl BASIC is a compact rope clamp designed to offer excellent grip and handling. Versatile, it can be used both for ascending a fixed rope and as a progress‑capture device in a hauling system. Its toothed cam, featuring an evacuation slot, ensures optimal performance in all conditions, including on frozen or muddy ropes. Made of stainless steel, the cam provides enhanced resistance to corrosion. The large lower hole allows easy connection of lanyard or foot‑loop carabiners, while the upper hole is designed for clipping the rope directly.
