The RIG is a compact self-braking descender designed for experienced rope access technicians, industrial climbers and technical rescue professionals. Engineered for intensive daily use, it provides excellent descent control thanks to its ergonomic handle and intuitive operation. Rope installation is quick and straightforward through clear rope-routing guides and markings, while the opening side plate allows easy passage of rebelays without disconnecting the device from the harness. Featuring the AUTO-LOCK system, the RIG enables effortless work positioning without tying off or additional handling, automatically locking the rope as soon as the handle is released. Its versatility allows use both on the harness and at an anchor point, with two descent modes available: on the side plate or through the V-shaped friction channel with braking spurs for enhanced control and reduced rope twisting. Once the rope is locked, short ascents can be performed simply by taking in slack without operating the handle. Built for durability, the device incorporates wear protection and an optimized cam profile that reduces friction and extends service life. For users seeking maximum longevity, a repairable version is available, allowing key wear components to be replaced. Compatible with ropes from 9.5 to 11.5 mm, the RIG is rated for loads up to 140 kg for a single user and up to 200 kg in rescue situations. Available at La Corderie in Ixelles, Belgium.
